Campanile PRIME Warszawa Centrum

I’d rate this hotel 2/5. The breakfast was okay and the room itself decent, but the bathroom had a faint unpleasant smell, like a basement or storage room. There was no fridge, and traffic and sirens were loud enough to hear inside, which made it inconvenient to sleep later in the morning. The room had just two toilet rolls, and one looked half used. There were only two pillows on the bed, and they were quite flat and not very comfortable. When we arrived around 10:30am, I had an embassy appointment. The man at reception was genuinely helpful and accommodating: he let us leave our luggage while we explored, and checked whether an early check-in room might be available. He was honest that there wasn’t one yet, though one might open up in about an hour. My husband and I went to a coffee shop and came back around noon. A woman was then at the desk. I politely asked whether our room might be ready, while understanding we were early. She said check-in was at 2. I hadn’t caught her first response, so I asked again, and she repeated, “Check-in is at 2”. I couldn’t feel any hospitality from her. We waited in the lobby for almost two hours, in clear view of reception, in case a room opened up. Nobody came to update or speak with us. I understand the hotel may have been fully booked or busy, even though some guests had checked out, but some staff didn’t make us feel particularly welcome. Only a few employees seemed attentive and genuinely caring. As a first-time visitor to Poland, this was the second hotel where we felt let down by the service. The other one was Regent. Travelers, please be mindful when booking.

Being near Ochota is handy if you rely a lot on public transport, but that also means it’s extremely noisy all night. Even small things like a shaving kit cost extra. The place feels run in a pretty mechanical way, without much human warmth.

There are some excellent restaurants nearby, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The railway is close enough that you can sometimes feel vibrations, but it isn’t disturbing. Good location.

Getting around is easy from here. The hotel is near the railway station, with a bus connection from the station and lots of other public transport just a two-minute walk away. My superior room faced the inner yard, so I saw no railway, and it was quiet. The room was small but clean, as was the bathroom, and I really liked the hairdryer. Breakfast was tasty, with a good range of dishes, and I think it was one of the most varied breakfasts I had on my trip. The staff were friendly and nice. The one thing I wasn’t keen on was the cleaning schedule. I left at 11am while staff were cleaning the rooms, then came back at 4pm and they still hadn’t finished. I liked my stay at Companile and would definitely consider staying there again on my next visit to Warsaw.
