The room was fairly tidy, but it was much smaller than the photos suggested, which seemed to be taken from a misleading angle. We left almost as soon as we arrived, so I can’t comment on the rest of the apartment. The location was the only thing going for it. The owners were rude, and the smell was unbearable from the moment we walked in, apparently from a plumbing problem on the building’s top floor. The listing said no smoking, but the apartment reeked of cigarettes. It wasn’t an outrageous price for two nights in the city centre, but we got no refund or apology, even though the owners didn’t have to clean after us or use the utilities they’d paid for. Booking.com should check listings before approving them. They offered me a 10% discount on another booking as an apology, though I doubt I’ll use it. Then the owners had the nerve to send a satisfaction survey.

The rooms were a dump, even though the place looked cheap at first. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else.

After our first night I messaged the owner, but got no reply. I told him the smell, dirt, and general condition were outrageous. Opening the apartment door, we were hit by a cesspool-like, musty stench. The room was stuffy, the fan was broken, and the blinds didn’t work, so we couldn’t shut the window. Young people were shouting outside all night, while the mustiness and stuffiness indoors made it hard to keep the window open. The so-called bathroom was shocking. I’ve never seen that level of dirt and smell in any accommodation. It looked as though nobody had cleaned it in a month, and its fixtures were in poor shape too. The bedroom was really just a little cubicle. The bed sloped and creaked even when I moved a toe; the mattress springs dug into my ribs, and the bedding smelled strange. I regret trusting the booking site reviews without checking the “units” on Google. Those “units” accurately reflect what’s being offered. What we found here was no joke, and I’m very sad to say it, but the facts speak for themselves.

We walked in and left right away. The listing didn’t say we’d be sharing the room with other people, and the place smelled like garbage. It wasn’t even listed as a “deluxe apartment.”
