Sawa Hostel

Great location and clean, good accommodation. Check-in and checkout were easy. It can get a little loud sometimes, depending on the other guests.

Just right for a weekend :)

The location and price are the only real upsides. Room number 5 was okay, and the sheets and towels smelled clean, but the heater didn't work, so it was very cold. There were cobwebs in the corners, fingerprints on the mirror, and something sticky on the table. The mattresses sank around the pelvis and were uncomfortable. A strange smell hung around the room and the rest of the hostel, and the bathrooms felt neglected, with old dust and toothpaste on the tiles. The room was fairly modern, but not clean enough. The kitchen table seats only six, which made things awkward. We were told by email that check-in details would arrive the day before, but nothing came until we called. The man who answered sounded bored and mumbled in a long, hard-to-understand stream. The entrance was between garages and dumpsters, and the door, with graffiti and no handle, looked so bad we wondered if it was really a hostel. The room and hostel were cold and couldn't be aired out enough to get rid of the smell. Breakfast was toasted bread and disposable items from the fridge, including jam, Nutella, toasted cheese, and Rama margarine. The food didn't seem like a healthy choice, and for the same price you could easily find something more suitable for a normal diet. If you care about what you eat, you'd still need to shop for your own food after paying for breakfast. Even the food there might be gone or taken away: today, a family of three in front of us picked about half the items from the bowl, ate some, and took the rest back to their room. I understand you can't expect luxury at this price, but basic cleanliness matters. It was survivable, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Good value for the money, with tidy, clean rooms and bathroom. The kitchen was pleasant and well equipped, and the location near the Old Town was convenient. Being close to a mental health center is a bit of a challenge, though it wasn't especially inconvenient.
