Tapir Hostel

I was nervous after reading the bedbug comments, but ended up having a great time. The hostel was really clean, and they clearly try to make it cozy. It smelled nice everywhere. I stayed two nights and loved the neighborhood, especially all the vegan restaurants. It’s close to the station, while far enough from the tourist sights that the area doesn’t feel busy. I didn’t see anyone at reception the whole time. The freedom was nice, but I wondered what I’d do if there were a problem with the building or another guest in my room. Still, I’d come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Warsaw.

Getting to the rail station, bus stop, Old Town, and city center was fairly easy. I stayed for two nights in September 2015, and the room was very clean with nice decor. The staff member was friendly and helped us print our documents, doing what he could to make us comfortable. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for good service at a low price.

It’s a pretty, fairly clean, and quite new hostel, but the place is so cramped that I had to leave my suitcase in the corridor because there was no room for it. There’s no common room, so it’s hard to spend time with other people. Reception hours were odd, and the computer in the hallway wasn’t available to use, so I couldn’t print my boarding pass. I came away with mixed feelings and would definitely choose somewhere else next time.

We stayed one night and found the hostel clean, comfortable, and small but well equipped. The only staff member we saw was a cleaner on the morning we left. He was rude and seemed annoyed that guests were using the kitchen and bathroom while he was trying to clean. After we’d checked out and left our room, we were still having breakfast in the kitchen when he made us leave for the courtyard. It was an unfortunate end to an otherwise nice stay.
