Zajazd Napoleonski

The bath was full-sized and relaxing, and breakfast felt personal and was quite pleasant. Still, I wouldn't rate this as a four-star hotel, though I'd recommend it to people traveling a long way from the East. The room was hot and smelled bad, with no air conditioning, and opening the windows let in mosquitoes. The bed was small and extremely noisy, enough to wake you around sunrise. The bathroom door wouldn't fully close, and there were cracks here and there. At reception, they didn't seem happy to see guests. You could arrange parking inside, only to be told all the gates had closed a minute earlier. The staff seemed to speak Russian more readily than English.

The staff were friendly and breakfast was good. The building's best days seem to be behind it, and the heating couldn't really warm the hotel. It didn't seem to be a one-off, either. Reception keeps extra blankets for guests who get cold :-) 😄

I liked the little garden, and the staff were really nice and helpful. The breakfast could've been better, though. At night, the old furniture and equipment in the room, along with the squeaky floors, gave me goosebumps. I was literally scared to death.

The villa sits in secluded, beautifully kept grounds, even though its location gives a glimpse of the lively center of Poland's capital. It's a stately, quiet place in Warsaw's suburbs, with understated elegance and first-rate service. Public transport and roads both serve it well. Cosmopolitan, relevant, and good fun.
