Hotel GLAR Conference & SPA

We’re a couple from Berlin, and our stay came pretty close to perfect. The spa is spacious, modern, and very new. From what I could tell there wasn’t a big variety of saunas, but as someone coming from Germany I really liked being able to wear a swimsuit in the sauna. At German spas it’s naked or no access, so having a choice was much appreciated. Book massages or facials ahead of time, especially for weekends, as they were fully booked while we were there. The Jacuzzi was a little disappointing, too small and always full, while the pool is large and kept at a perfect 31 degrees Celsius. We had a beautiful superior room with a lake view and a generously sized terrace. It was very spacious, with a tasteful seating area and an open shower with glass walls. That might not suit anyone who prefers privacy while showering 🫢, but it didn’t bother us. The toilet was separate and private, thank goodness. We ate at the à la carte restaurant. The food was good, though not a culinary explosion, but that wasn’t why we came. The bartender made delicious margaritas, not too sweet and with decent tequila brands, and an excellent espresso martini. You don’t always get that at a spa hotel. Our dinner server was delightful and helped with our menu questions. Breakfast was decent, though that’s more about personal preference.

This was our second stay, and we’re already sure we’ll be back. The lake view gives the beautiful property a special atmosphere, and we found the hotel and our room luxurious from the moment we arrived. It’s a wonderful place to unwind. We looked forward to the breakfast and dinner buffets every day. Both had excellent quality and variety, and were a highlight of the day. We also spent plenty of time in the sauna and by the pool, in a spa area designed to feel calm and peaceful. Last year we asked for more vegetarian dishes at dinner, and the hotel seems to take guest feedback seriously. This time there were noticeably more choices, including vegetarian schnitzel on some evenings. We mostly eat vegetarian and really appreciate the change. We’d be happy to see the selection keep growing. One small issue was the bedding. At first, our double bed had one large shared blanket, which makes it hard for me to sleep well and disrupted my rest. We asked for a second on the first day, but one wasn’t available. After asking again a few days later, we did get one. It would be great if a second blanket could always be provided on request, since some guests sleep better with separate ones. Next time we’ll try asking in advance. The attentive service, lovely food, luxurious rooms, and lakeside setting made for another fantastic, relaxing visit. We felt comfortable throughout and are already looking forward to coming back next year.

The massages were a real highlight, and the food was absolutely delicious. Service was helpful, and the staff were lovely and welcoming. The hotel had a great atmosphere and a perfect location, just a short walk from the beach. I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for a relaxing stay!

The gym was too stuffy to really work out in, the dinner buffet felt overpriced, and service seemed overworked at times. There were also some language barriers. Even so, I had a wonderful stay and found it worth the price. The spa is fully equipped, the rooms are amazing and modern, the location is peaceful, and the food is delicious. One of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed at.
