Hotel Kaukaska

We went for lunch with my family on August 2, 2020, and waited 40 minutes for drinks, then another 40 for the food. Five waiters came to our table, number 5, and the service was awful. My brother complained to a young woman, whose mother defended her. We understood the mother was another customer and had been served first. The whole place was badly organized. They did offer us the drinks, but we can't recommend this restaurant.

There isn't much to do nearby, and the town is quiet in the evenings, so you'd need to head to Poznan for nightlife. Hotel Kaukaska works well as a budget place to sleep if you have daytime plans, are passing through Poland, or are here on business. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly, though none spoke English, which makes things hard for guests who don't speak Polish. The rooms have an old-fashioned 80s look but were hygienic. Breakfast has a decent range without anything fancy. Dinner is much the same, fresh and decent, but not restaurant quality.

I won't stay here again. The room fridge didn't work, and the shower came off its fitting. We told reception, but nothing was done. Breakfast was very disappointing: the eggs seemed to have been cooked at 6 a.m. and were still sitting there at 9, even though the hotel was quiet enough for them to be made to order. The fruit juice was warm too. The breakfast was disgusting.

It's a pleasant spot beside the river, and the town and station are an easy walk away. The staff were helpful and pleasant too.
