Apartments 4 You

The location is the one good thing here, just a 3-minute walk from the market square. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it. Finding the place was a struggle. There were barely any signs to the reception, and after picking up the key we still had to locate our apartment, a few blocks away. We were in apartment number 1. The apartment itself was very basic, which we could accept for a four-night stay, but the space was poorly used. Two TVs sat side by side in an already small room. We were given two towels that smelled really bad, plus some liquid soap. There were teabags and a jar of instant coffee for breakfast, though I didn’t try either. I never got a good night's sleep. The mattress felt about 10 years old, with every spring noticeable. The window faced the road, where people shouted at night, and there were no proper curtains, just paper covers. Car lights shone straight into the bedroom. The shower was close to unusable too, with water pressure that was the worst I’ve experienced in my 25 years of travelling. The last day is what took this down to 1 star, and even that feels generous. At 3:30 pm reception called to say there’d be a ventilation inspection between 4 and 6 pm and that I had to be in the apartment. I was passing reception, so I went in and said I wasn’t going to spend my last day waiting around, especially with so little notice. I also didn’t want anyone entering while my belongings were there. They said okay. Then, 30 minutes later, I got a text saying the owner demanded access and I’d be fined 500 PLN, about €110, if I refused. Why was the apartment available to book if an important inspection was scheduled that day? They should at least have given proper notice so we could have worked something out.
