Zapotoczny Residence

You can bring your fur babies, which is a lovely bonus. The staff were very helpful, and the rooms were clean with great views. Good food and great beer too.

We had a nice, clean, fresh-smelling room that met our expectations, and the hotel was lovely and beautifully situated with a wonderful view of the Tatra Mountains. Breakfast was delicious and varied, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Two problems took away from the stay. Parking costs 30 PLN per day for hotel guests, which is absurd, especially since the lot was 90% empty and there was no alternative off-site. A small fee might make sense, but 30 PLN is what you'd pay to park on Krupówki Street. The other issue was hot water: we didn't get any. We reported it almost every day and were told it had been passed on to the manager and that we should run off the cold water. It took about 10 minutes to get water that was only relatively warm, not hot. It's a shame these two important hassles left us with a bad feeling about the place.

Breakfast was very good, but the setting around the property didn't give us much to do on foot. There wasn't really anywhere to walk, and the area felt uninteresting. The spa is just a small sauna and an outdoor jacuzzi with room for up to four people. In the rooms, the Wi-Fi was weak and the window blind was broken. You also have to use the parking lot pointed out at reception when you arrive. I still don't see why this place costs twice as much as other properties with a similar rating around Zakopane.

The staff made a great impression on me, always smiling and helpful, and willing to try to meet requests. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and had plenty to choose from, with that home-cooked feel. I also loved the view of the Tatra Mountains, and the location felt nicely tucked away while still being close to Zakopane and its attractions. My room was spacious and modern, with nice lighting, quality furniture, soft, well-kept carpeting, and a big TV with Netflix. The bathroom was small but clean and practical. The bed was made of two mattresses that shifted apart a little, leaving a gap in the middle, and the pillows were too small. I’d recommend Zapotoczny Residence for the mountain setting, comfortable rooms, and lovely service.
