I was given a different apartment from the one I booked and saw in the photos. There were no closets, and the bed was too small for two people and uncomfortable. With the window open, the apartment was noisy. The sloping wall was a problem both on the sofa, where your head would hit it, and in the bathroom. The building owner was impolite and had bad manners. The woman who handled check-in, though, was very good and polite.
Pavel, the owner, is a real gentleman and takes good care of everything. The place is the best choice for visiting Zakopane, just a few meters from the bus station and Krupowky Str.
The market is about five minutes away, and the bus stop is just a three-minute walk in the other direction. A great place to stay.
The narrow stairs up to the rooms are manageable, and the restroom is small but perfectly adequate. Everything was clean, the rooms were great, and it’s good value. Just be aware that parking isn’t included in the price. I’d happily recommend it.
There’s no on-site parking, though free parking is available at one of the nearby hotels, and the Wi-Fi was okay. The apartment is close to everything, but despite being 72 square meters it felt cramped. The narrow stairs up to the largest two-story unit on the first floor make it hard to carry suitcases. Downstairs, the kitchen is so tight that once someone sits at the table, nobody else can pass through. The living room is really a hallway with a TV, highchairs, and stairs leading down. The upstairs bedrooms are warm and the beds are comfortable, but the rooms are small with large sloping ceilings. The bathroom has a comfortable bathtub, though its very high ceilings make it awkward for tall people to stand up, and the lighting is too poor for men to shave. The restroom is okay. There’s basically no room for children to move around safely, so I wouldn’t say it suits families with kids. I was put off at first by how cramped it felt, but still gave it a good rating.
