Bel Ami

The staff were lovely, and breakfast was good with convenient hours. The location is very central, near the Main Street, and the liquid body soap in the toilet smelled like heaven. But the towels were awful, old and rough, and literally falling apart. There wasn’t a bin in the room, or hand soap or hand towels in the toilet, even though there was a hanger by the sink. The water bottle left in the room had already been opened. It was too hot to sleep with the window closed, and there was no way to adjust the room temperature. The shower pressure was the worst part, just drops of water. With long hair like mine, washing it properly took half an hour.

The reception staff were very kind and helpful, and there’s parking at the hotel. Krupowki Street is only a few minutes away on foot, and the hotel and rooms look nice. The place was clean, though the bathroom cleaning let it down: there were stains on the toilet seat and hair on the tiles. Towels and small shower gels were provided. Breakfast was tasty, with coffee, tea, water, sausages, cold cuts, cheeses, vegetables, yogurts, pastries, and omelets. I didn’t feel anything was missing.

The staff at reception spoke English and were quite supportive, and they accepted an early check-in. I stayed in a studio apartment with a spacious room, good heating, and a great mountain view. Breakfast had a good spread of Polish food. A great experience.

The hotel is in a perfect spot, about a five-minute walk from the main street, and there’s storage for skis or a snowboard if you’re here to ski. The rooms are very nice. The beds aren’t great, but they’re good enough. A very good place to stay in Zakopane.
