Harda House Friends & Spa

It’s very clean and nicely furnished, and some of the staff are really friendly. Everyone knows English. The river is right in front of the property, though to reach it you need to go behind the hotel opposite. Keep in mind that reception closes at 10 pm, and you use your room card to get through the main gate. Breakfast wasn’t good for us: most choices were for non-Muslims, there were fewer options, and they wouldn’t make an omelette on request. You also have to refill your own water from reception. The attic room is up in the roof, reached by stairs after the third level, so it isn’t suitable for people with disabilities or kids in strollers.

The receptionists and manager were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good and plentiful. The options changed from day to day, which worked well. We had a long drive and arrived late for check-in, but they quickly found a solution. Our room was spacious, nice, and clean. The location is ideal on a quiet side street in Zakopane, with everything reachable by a pleasant 20-30 minute walk. There’s a hospital next door, but our nights were quiet. We visited in the off-season, in May 2025, so it may feel different at peak times, though I think the experience would be similar. A few things could be better: parking is a bit tight for a building this size, although they found us a spot. The floors seemed heated with no way to turn them down, so it got warm overnight, but we could open the large balcony door to any position. The bathroom hot and cold knobs were swapped, C was hot and H was cold, though C for czieplo (warm) somehow makes sense 😂. The doors to the hallway and neighboring rooms were badly adjusted, as were a few others I looked at. The seals didn’t touch the frames, so noise and smells could easily come through, especially from the neighboring room. There was only an inner seal, without an outer one to help block noise. Bring earplugs in case your neighbor’s alarm goes off at 4am and gets snoozed 40 times. I can recommend the place overall.

The quiet setting suited us, even though it’s a little way from the centre. Harda House has a beautiful style, which is why I chose it, and we were happy with the room, service, wellness area, and chill room. We appreciated the coffee machine in the chill room, a really good idea for guests. We relaxed there every day after our trips and enjoyed our stay.

Staff were extra polite and sweet, and the breakfast had a good choice. Everything was clean and fresh, and we enjoyed the SPA. It’s about a 20-minute walk to Zakopane centre, with a good view from the room and car parking included. There’s a hospital across the river where helicopters land. Recommended!
