Helan Family & Garden

We had a happy, satisfying 6-day stay at Helan. Our room was clean when we arrived, breakfast was very good, and the staff were nice. The whole place feels cozy. We like this area because it suits us and isn’t too touristy. It’s 2 km from the center, but the paths are well made, and there’s transport everywhere, so walking or commuting wasn’t hard. After a long day hiking in the Tatras, it was a delight to come back to a neat, cozy place. The massage after hiking was good, especially for my stiff leg muscles. We highly recommend staying at Helan if you’re planning a visit to Zakopane. 🥰

For the price, my wife and I were very satisfied with our Thursday-to-Sunday, four-day stay. The hotel is near central Zakopane and you can walk to Krupówki Street, with restaurants and grocery shops close by too. There was plenty of room in the parking lot, and the playground in front looked like a great place for children. We enjoyed the chance to try local food at the restaurant, which serves breakfast and dinner. The spa was pleasant to use and exceptionally clean, including both the facilities and pool water. It has a swimming pool and sauna. There are a few downsides: the walls are thin and sound carries, no hair dryer was provided, and the beds are very soft, which might not suit everyone.

The spa itself is new, clean, and has a huge jacuzzi that could fit 10 people. There are several kinds of saunas, though they don't open until 5pm. From the pool you can see the mountains, which was lovely. I only visited the spa, I didn't stay at the hotel. Entry was 50zl for the whole day, a very good price, but check ahead because they may turn visitors away when the hotel is full. They provide a towel for 5zl, but no slippers or robe. The receptionist, whose name might have been Ifa, was friendly and professional. My massage with Marta was honestly probably the worst I've had: she seemed nice, but the movements felt chaotic, sloppy, and harsh. The changing room was a disaster too :)

I had entered the wrong dates for my booking.com reservation, so I contacted the hotel by phone and email. The staff were professional and very helpful, and tried to find any possible way to sort it out. It showed me that they really care about guests' needs.
