Sfinks

My girlfriend and I spent two nights here and were happy with what we got for the price. The building is in a quieter part of town, still near the center, hiking trails, and some good restaurants. The rooms show some wear, as others have mentioned, but you get a private room, a decent shower, and a working toilet at a low price. There’s no proper reception or restaurant, though the owner is friendly and easy to reach. Each floor has a fridge for your groceries, and there’s a microwave too. I noticed the earlier reviews were either very positive or really negative, so I wanted to share our experience.

The house has lovely wooden architecture that gives it a real Zakopane feel 😊. We got a reasonably priced room for four, and both the room and corridors were quite clean. It’s a good option for budget travelers. The only downsides were a broken toilet lock and no soap or handwash. Otherwise, everything was fine.

The balcony, which all guests can use, was a nice feature. The place is clean and the beds are comfortable, and the location is good for reaching the center of Zakopane. Kuznica is about 2 km away. I did miss having a second, smaller towel, and there weren’t enough shelves or hooks in the bathroom. In my room, 204, the shower had no wall holder.

It’s basic budget accommodation, with linens and cutlery provided and a shared kitchen. We paid 200 zl per night for four people. I’d give the location 4/5, and the ambience and value for money 5/5.
