Smrekowa Polana Resort & Spa

The sauna was small but still relaxing after a hike, and the staff were friendly. We stayed in the giewont room, which felt romantic and lovely, with a clear view of Giewont. There was a capsule coffee machine and basic kitchen equipment. Breakfast didn't offer many choices, but what they served was tasty and good quality, and enough to fill us up. Getting to the apartment meant climbing a steep hill, which was challenging after a day of hiking.

The views here are lovely, and the staff were really friendly. We found the spa very relaxing, though you need to book ahead for both spa access and breakfast.

The setting was lovely, and the building stayed quiet despite having lots of neighbors. Our apartment was very clean and had the basic things we needed for a short stay. Breakfast was a highlight, with plenty of local products presented nicely. The jacuzzi was a letdown. Some jets weren't working, and reception said they were waiting for parts, which I think guests should be told before they arrive. On the third day, the water smelled musty and like sewage rather than chlorine, so I couldn't make myself stay in it.

The spa area is extremely small, with one four-person jacuzzi and two saunas, yet they let 12 people in at once. There was no chance to relax with that many people in such a tight space. Service was unfriendly too. When we asked about disposable slippers for the sauna, the receptionist said it wasn't a hotel and we'd have to rent a hotel room to get those facilities. You couldn't even buy slippers there, which seemed strange with a sauna on site. Breakfast was awful, with a poor selection of the cheapest food.
