Target Hostel

We left after just one night because the mold smell in the air was extremely strong. The place was truly disgusting, and even the decorative flowers in the common area had mold. The dorm and bathroom doors were warped and broken, so they wouldn’t close or lock properly. There was no reception or security, and the overflowing kitchen trash made it clear things weren’t being cleaned or maintained. We also never got the breakfast we paid for. Even at a relatively low price for the area, it wasn’t worth it. Do not stay here.

The bathroom had flies, one shower had a broken handle, and the door lock in the other shower room didn’t work, so it wouldn’t close. The kitchen light, which was automatic, sometimes didn’t work either. There was nobody at reception, and during my three nights I couldn’t get a response by call or text. The location is good, close to the city and center, but overall it wasn’t good.

Several beds had broken boards, and after I reported it to both the booking services and the hotel staff, nothing was fixed. One guest even fell through a broken bed onto the person below, which points to a serious safety and maintenance failure. There was also visible mold on the room, beds, and bathrooms, raising concerns about cleanliness and health standards.

I booked on the day I arrived in Zakopane, and the owner replied and let me stay. Compared with what others have written, I feel lucky. The amenities are basic, but they were enough for me. I was surprised they even provided shampoo.
