Villa Cecylia

It’s clean, though there’s nothing fancy, and the price for the quality is excellent. There’s a shared kitchen and fridge, and it’s very close to the restaurants on Krupówki Street. Highly recommend.

The room for improvement here is substantial, especially when it comes to cleanliness and guest service. Our arrival at Willa Cecylia in Zakopane was a letdown: the bedding was damp and, in my opinion, possibly used, while the bathroom bathtub was dirty and the mattresses were torn and uncomfortable. The terrace table was dirty, and the ashtray was full. The decor felt frozen in the communist era, which might have been fine if the place had been properly maintained and clean, but it wasn’t. The owner was rude and unfriendly, making the experience worse. The Booking.com listing and photos didn’t match what we actually found at all. I don’t recommend staying here.

We only wanted a bathroom and a bed, so we chose this place because it was the cheapest for our dates. The room looked like a school summer camp from 15 years ago, or worse, though at least the bedding was fresh and clean. The large terrace in the room was the only positive. The building was dirty, especially the shared bathroom, which was used by all the rooms and the owner too. It took a very long time for hot water to come, and there was no toilet paper or soap. On arrival day, the owner called me several times asking where we were and how much it would cost. When we got there, the owner wasn’t around. After we called, we were told to put money in a box, which seemed suspicious since we had no keys or anything. We did eventually get keys, but we weren’t happy with that arrangement at all. Luckily, we only stayed one night. I don’t recommend this place.

There’s everything you need for a short trip to Zakopane, and both the price and location are great. Just don’t expect luxury. I’ll come back again.
