The building is newly built and nice, and the woman who runs it is lovely. Still, the service was poor. The internet didn’t work at all, which left me with about $100 in unexpected roaming fees. We stayed a week and not one sheet or towel was changed, and the room wasn’t cleaned. The garbage bins were overflowing. We asked for more toilet paper and got it. The husband was moody and rude to my wife, telling her to leave the common area on New Year’s Eve and bringing her to tears. I wouldn’t stay again for the price, mostly because of his behavior.

Our rooftop apartment was about a 30-minute walk from downtown. Both rooms had only a skylight, and with no window in the bathroom, the whole apartment got damp after a shower.

We were so shocked by the way we were treated that we left in a hurry and never used the prepaid stay. When my wife called because a man in the hallway smelled of alcohol and there was no other staff in sight, I turned back to check she was safe. The same man knocked on the room door a moment later. As soon as I opened it, he told me to leave because I wasn’t registered and he’d seen my “fraud” on camera. Another man joined him, apparently ready to force me out, and they both shouted insults at us. I won’t repeat them here. I’d booked and paid in advance for a double room for my wife for two nights so we could attend a concert. I needed to be in Krakow by noon the next day and planned to come back after the concert. At check-in, my wife asked what extra charge I’d owe if I stayed just one night. The host quoted a greatly inflated amount, several times the difference we would have paid by booking for two on Booking.com instead of one, so we declined. I walked her to Willa Cicha after the concert and drove home, then turned back after her call. Once home, I reported it to Booking.com, but refunds were up to the host, who refused to give one. I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this was a very bad experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
