We had a really pleasant stay and ended up adding an unplanned extra night. The owners speak only Polish, but they try to use English with guests, and we understood each other without any problem. We booked online through booking.com and paid by card; I suspect payment there is cash only. The foreign tax was 16 zł for 4 person, for 2 nights, paid in cash to the owners. You receive two keys, one for the room and one for the entrance, and can make requests when booking online. Getting in took a little figuring out: the entrance is at the top of the stairs, and the door is sometimes locked. Call the number posted there and they’ll let you in and show you your room. There’s room for up to 10 cars. It’s accessible for disabled guests, with parking at house level and just one step from the deck to get inside. The garden is beautiful and well maintained, and must be flourishing in spring and summer. Morskie Oko is about a 20 minute drive away, and Zakopane centre takes 10-11 minutes by car. Buses run from Zakopane to Morskie Oko or the neighbouring town Cyrhla. The bus stop is on the main road, around a five minute uphill walk away. We only tried the Lidl in the centre, but there are several Zabkas nearby for drinks, snacks, or fast food. Our room was clean and very well equipped: two beds with nightstands, a small table and two chairs, a wardrobe, and a drawer. The outlet placement is a little questionable, but manageable. There’s also a small TV, though we didn’t use it. We found hangers in the wardrobe and could hang up our clothes and coats to dry. The bathroom was clean, with a spacious shower and a vent to clear the steam, so it wasn’t moldy at all. We had towels for each of us, plus a small hand towel, soap, and a little trashcan. That was the only trashcan in the room. The heating needs to be turned on when you arrive. We had no problem with the temperature, though we heard people in other rooms say it was a bit cold. The shared corridors are heated too. There are only stairs inside, and breakfast is on the basement level. Trays are left under the radiators for drying shoes or umbrellas. There’s a shared lounge kind of space with a kettle, tea, coffee, fireplace, and small kitchen, along with mugs, glasses, armchairs, and a table where the whole family or other guests can sit together. A large shared fridge on one of the floors is available for keeping food and drinks. The spacious breakfast room downstairs has welcoming decor and furniture. Two of the owners prepare and cook the buffet breakfast, and the food varies depending on the guests, from what I noticed. There were cereals, pancakes with curd cheese (delicious!!!), meat slices, hard boiled egg, vegetables, salads, and different cheeses. I didn’t ask about dietary variations, but I think it wouldn’t be a problem if notified beforehand. There’s no sweetener, only sugar. We enjoyed ourselves very much and will definitely return. We had lots of positive experiences and were happy with everything. I recommend staying here for a pleasant visit. Thank you for reading 🩷
