Artis Hotel & Spa

We came as a family for some rest, and the whole place was incredible. There’s a variety of food, and you can get whatever you need. We enjoyed relaxing in the sauna and getting active in the gym. The hotel is held to a very high standard, and the service was super helpful and polite.

We left early and couldn’t have breakfast in the restaurant, so I asked reception to prepare something to take with us. I got two cheese sandwiches and two ham sandwiches, water, orange juice, salad, a Mars bar, sweet cheese cake for dessert, and a piece of fruit. I was really delighted, it’s the first time I’ve received such a generous package. If you’re in the same situation, don’t hesitate to ask. Very nice hotel with large rooms, and I do recommend it.

The SPA is peaceful, with plenty to do, and we had a lot of fun here. We’ll definitely come back.

The restaurant was a real highlight for us. We ate there several times, and every meal was delicious and nicely presented. The staff there were lovely, and the gardens outside are beautifully kept, with flowers and a nice play area for little kids. The rest of the stay was more mixed. Our family was there for a wedding, and the rooms we saw were dated and didn’t look like the website photos. Our room was okay, but there was rubbish and breadsticks under the bed. The pillows were very uncomfortable, the fridge was dirty and hot inside instead of working, and getting coffee and tea replenished was hit or miss. Housekeeping seemed scarce during our six days, and you had to request room cleaning or put the card on the door. Hotel information came through a QR code. A few reception staff seemed rude or put out when asked for help, especially when we were looking for a key. The reception area felt dark and unwelcoming. It was also odd that you had to go outside and re-enter through another door to get from reception to breakfast. The bar could use attention too: they served beer and cocktails, but no wine or prosecco, even though prosecco was used in the cocktails. We had a good stay overall, but I’d put this at maybe two or three stars rather than four. If you’re expecting a four-star hotel, this may disappoint.
