The place is clean, in a very good location, and runs on a self-service basis. But the air ducts carry noise from the neighboring units, so you can hear everything, from kids screaming to sex and conversations. With tourists coming and going, don’t count on sleeping before midnight, and expect to be woken around 6 AM.

The view is great, right by the river and the border with Germany, and the apartment has been newly renovated. It was clean and felt luxurious, with easy check in and checkout. Street parking is next to the building, paid Monday to Friday from 08:00-17:00 and free on weekends. A very good choice, highly recommend.

It’s a lovely-looking loft, and the price is very tempting. The location is great too, with Germany just over the bridge and the excellent café Caffka nearby. But some practical things get in the way. The kitchen has a dishwasher that feels pointless without a stove, since there’s only a microwave. There are no window screens, so airing the place out doesn’t feel like an option. The stairs up to the bedroom are steep and have sharp edges, and the attic apartment is on the fourth floor with no elevator. There are no keys, either, so you have to enter a long numeric code every time. The bed was the worst part for us: narrow for two and the softest we’ve ever slept on. I couldn’t tell if the mattress was worn out or just that soft.
