The garden is so big and peaceful, with the trees, birds and bees making it easy to lose track of time. I loved this Palac, and the hosts are incredibly friendly and speak lots of languages. Don’t skip breakfast. I can’t wait to come back!

The large stone plaque beside the entrance gate remembers local German soldiers who died in World War I. The building itself has a rectangular plan, a mezzanine, a tall hipped roof, and a four-column portico topped by a triangular pediment. Its facade is similar to Romberg Castle (Samotwór). The estate belonged to the von Fromberg family from 1725, then passed to the von Gersdorf family in 1801 and Arthur von Witzleben in 1864. The castle’s 19th-century style suggests it was probably built under the von Gersdorfs, possibly by architect Karl Gottfried Geißler. It housed a primary school after 1945, stood empty in the 1990s, and is now privately owned and used as a guesthouse.

The palace sits in a lovely spot and is kept in good shape, with a park around it. It seems to be privately owned, so visitors can’t go inside.

You can only see it from outside since it’s private property. The exterior looks good, and the owner clearly takes care of the palace.

It’s a beautifully restored palace, though being privately owned means you can’t visit it. The park is meticulously cared for, and the owners deserve credit for that.
