Chez Marie Jo

The ocean view from this sunny home was lovely, and the place felt cozy enough that I felt at home. Marie Jo and her husband Ludo were so kind and helpful. It was a really authentic French experience. Merci Marie Jo ❤️

The room had a beautiful, wide view over Saint Pierre, and it was a great price. Marie-Jo and her husband were warm and fun to talk with, and their local tips helped us figure out the island’s business and restaurant schedules. We also got to practice our French. One thing to know: most rooms share a bathroom, which wasn’t clear when we booked. It was very clean, though, and we rarely had to wait. We’d happily stay again if we return to Saint-Pierre.

After the place we’d booked elsewhere told us the night before our trip that they had no reservation for us, we found this B&B through the tourist website. From making the reservation onward, everything went smoothly. The rooms were good, and we really enjoyed the communal breakfast. I appreciated the host so much that we took him and another guest out for dinner. This felt like a home away from home, and I’m looking forward to coming back.

Marie Jo’s kindness to my family and our Shih Tzu is something we won’t forget. An honest AirB&B booking error left us without a place to stay, and her B&B was full. She was already overbooked, with another guest staying in her personal space, but still pitched a tent in the backyard for us. She understood that camping wasn’t what we’d expected for our vacation, and that no other hotel or property on St.Pierre would take us with our Shih Tzu. There wasn’t room for us inside at breakfast, so she went out of her way to set up an incredible meal for us on the deck picnic table. She did everything she could to make us comfortable. Her hospitality and compassion will always stay with us, and reminded us to help others when they’re in need. Thank you Mario Jo.
