Mi Tierra

I usually don’t like criticizing places I visit because I work in customer service too, but our experience at Mi Tierra Hotel and Restaurant was one of the worst. The woman handling administration was excellent, but the owners weren’t kind and didn’t provide good customer service. The air conditioner’s filter was dirty and it wasn’t cooling. I asked the owner if we’d get credit for an uncomfortable first night. He said he’d see, then sent a kitchen employee with an extra 10% discount coupon for food. The Restaurant doesn’t open until 2pm, so we had to eat elsewhere for breakfast and lunch. There was no microwave in the room, even though one had been promised when we booked. How are people supposed to heat milk for coffee? The second night, the hotel had a power outage and the generator had a fault. One reason, I think, is that the hotel is filled more than the reviews suggest. The gap between the reviews and the real guest experience felt clear to us. I suspect the same owners or administrators post positive reviews themselves to build popularity, but the place was empty when we visited, possibly because of the poor service. That was our experience.

It’s a lovely place for families, and the price is very affordable. The rooms are beautiful, everything was clean and sanitized, and even the pool was clean 😊. The owners were caring and welcoming, and the service was amazing. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Hotel Mi Tierra was open when we were stranded without anywhere to stay on Christmas Eve. Even as the restaurant was closing, the staff made sure we got food. While our family dealt with a crisis day by day, they kept extending our stay one day at a time for a whole week. Jasmy and the rest of the team were attentive, professional, and compassionate throughout. They showed what a caring small business can be, and we’ll stay with them whenever we return.

After our family gathering, we spent time by the pool, where there was a nice bar and live music. The staff had been very kind and attentive, and we all had a really good time!
