Anchors Hotel

The only real snag was parking. There are a few paved spaces by the entrance, but most of it is across the street on dirt. Everything else worked well for our three nights while we went out on SCUBA boats from Fijardo. It's just outside the marina area but still very convenient, with good restaurants within walking distance. The staff were nice, the place was very clean, and the rooms felt up to date with everything working. The shower got super hot and had strong pressure, and the pool area was relaxing. There's also a kitchen in the community area.

Anchors made a great quiet base for our Fajardo activities. We spent time by the pool between snorkeling, kayaking, and a trip to Icacos Island. It isn't right on a beach, but there are good restaurants and plenty of activities nearby. The hotel is small, cute, brand new, and very clean. After a week at the amazing but crowded El San Juan, the slower pace here was exactly what we wanted. If you're after a full service resort, this isn't that kind of place. But Anchors Hotel is a quiet, relaxing option near things to do and a little off the beaten path. The staff were especially friendly and patient with all our probably annoying tourist questions, and gave us good suggestions for food and activities. We stayed three days after five days in San Juan. We worried a bit because nobody we talked to there knew this place and everyone assumed we were going to El Conquistador. We'd recommend Anchors if you want to be close to activities without the crowds.

Saribel was especially helpful, sharing ideas for places to eat and visit, and the whole staff was friendly and professional. I loved the modern rooms, which felt like home. The only change I'd suggest is adding a full-length mirror so guests can see their whole outfit. The hotel is in a quiet spot, and you can hear coqui frogs at night, though not inside the rooms while you're sleeping. The pool area is nice and has vending machines. It's also pretty close to the ferry to culebra and Vieques if that's part of your Puerto Rico plans. I really enjoyed my stay and recommend it.

Ilda at the front desk noticed we needed different accommodations because of physical limitations and arranged the change right away. She was incredible, and we're grateful. The rooms look newly renovated, with thoughtful, classy details. Everything felt fresh, comfortable, and welcoming. We had a great stay and would gladly come back. Highly recommend!
