We stayed in room 306A at Golden Dream Villas from Wed, 8/20/25 - Sunday, 8/24/25. The development looked well maintained and seemed to have plenty of security, but our room did not feel safe. We arrived late Wednesday and parked in the space marked for 306, which is shared with apartment 306B. On Thursday we spent most of the day at the pool and came back to 306A for lunch. Later, my sister realized two of her rings were missing. We searched the whole apartment, then notified the Property Manager and said we would call the Isabela Police Department. The police told us to keep looking and call Friday morning if we still hadn’t found them. We searched again Friday morning, then called and were told to file a report in person at 4pm. Before going to the station, we secured our luggage and took my nephew to the pool from about 1pm-3:30/3:45 pm. When we entered the code for 306A, there was a woman inside. She yelled “aye” and ran out. I asked who she was and what she was doing in our apartment. She said her name was Diana and that she was letting camera installers in because of some kind of incident. When I asked what had happened, she said rings had been robbed. She showed me audio and written messages from a woman named Nidia, who clearly mentioned rings stolen from both 306A and 306B and asked her to investigate. Nobody had told me Diana or camera installers would be entering our room. I believe that was illegal and an invasion of privacy. Diana also went into 306B to discuss camera placement. She said door codes weren’t changed between guest stays, which is a serious security failure. She seemed to work there. Since it was getting late for our police appointment, we told her we’d call the property manager. The Property Manager said she had checked with staff, who said nobody had been in our room. She also said Diana and Nidia were both part of the maintenance staff. We filed the report at the station. The Detective told us to complain to the property manager or owner about the woman being in our room, and said no one should enter rented rooms while guests are staying there. He was angry about the security and privacy breach at Golden Dream Villas and said the missing rings could have been an inside job. When we got back, we also told the Golden Dream Villa Security Guard about the rings and finding Diana in our room. He was the only one who followed up with his supervisor and the property owner. I called the owner Saturday morning and left a message. Two hours later he texted asking for my name, check-in day, and reason for calling, all of which I’d already included. I sent the information again along with a written account of what happened. On Sunday, our checkout day, he texted that they were interviewing staff. Four days later I still hadn’t heard from him, except that he cancelled our stay in Expedia three days after the fact so our negative review wouldn’t show. I’d seriously think twice before staying at Golden Dream Villas Apartment 306A.

The pool is nice and the beach is just steps away. The place itself was clean, but there’s room for improvement. I stayed in 306B, three flights up with luggage, and the stairs get very slippery in the rain. There’s no in-person assistance, everything is handled by phone, and they make you docusign a lot of rules and fine print. Workers at the next-door apartment were noisy early in the morning, and the property beside it looks abandoned. The rental assistant also called to ask whether I’d seen the housekeeper’s shades, which I thought was Tacky. Stay at your own Risk.

The place was clean, but you’re on your own. The remote for the front gate didn’t work, and the owner didn’t seem very concerned. We had to make lots of calls and do a lot ourselves to get a working remote, and it took up the whole Saturday of our vacation.

Don’t ever book through Expedia. They seem unable to register reservations properly, and they wait for you to call before telling you the place is full. They won’t even apologize.

Such a beautiful spot, and it was clean and quiet. Love it 😍
