Nectar and Nori were our dinner favorites, and room service arrived quickly. We also had a lot of fun with the Topgolf suite. Both the beach and pool were great, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The property was beautiful, and its location worked well for what we had planned: El Yunque Rainforest and Luquillo Beach/Kiosks were about 20 minutes away, Bio Bay Kayaking tour in Fajardo around 45, and Old San Juan about 45 minutes.

The resort is huge, with a massive pool and a long beach that made it easy to relax and switch off. There’s lush tropical landscaping throughout, plus lovely ocean views and a breeze. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and quick to help whenever we called the front desk. We ate at the on-site restaurants, which were pretty good and convenient. Being near the golf course is a nice perk if you want to play. The whole place is beautiful and luxurious, and the team really made an effort to look after us. A lovely spot for a relaxing break.

The room was large with high ceilings, but the air conditioning only goes down to 68°, and you have to call to ask them to lower it further. The filters didn't seem to be changed often, either. Our room smelled musty, and the shower never got hot or even properly warm. The layout of the resort is very spread out and doesn't feel cohesive. It seems more suited to weddings and events than to guests staying at a resort. From the main road, it takes another 10 minutes to get there, which added time to every trip. Some might see that as a safety measure, but I found it inconvenient. This was my first stay, and I came away very disappointed. Only two restaurants open each night, so choices can be limited. The food was extremely poor for the $$$ price, maybe even worse than Applebee's, and the wait staff weren't attentive or very engaged. The booking sites and website list a hot tub and sauna, but using either means paying $40 for each 30-minute session at the spa. There isn't a hot tub by any of the pools. What looks like one is just a semicircular seating spot with jets pushing cold water. The gyms were adequate, and the 24/7 market was a nice feature. Still, I'd probably choose an Airbnb or a much cheaper hotel next time I visit Puerto Rico. Most of the resort amenities aren't included in the upfront price.

The Globalist check-in room was a lovely touch and made arrival feel especially welcoming. The landscaping also stood out, from the island in the pool to the rest of the grounds, which looked beautifully maintained. There have been many noticeable improvements, and the property seems to be thriving under strong leadership. Service was among the best I've experienced at a hotel. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and clearly cared about guests. Pamela deserves a special mention for going above and beyond and making sure I felt looked after. My stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico was perfect from check-in through checkout. If you're after a relaxing, high-quality resort in Puerto Rico, this place delivers. Thanks to the GM and the whole team for an unforgettable trip. I'll definitely be back.

Dinner service could be very slow, though the staff were great overall. The food was really good, and while it was quite expensive, I felt it was worth the money. The hotel is one of the most beautiful I've ever visited, with an amazing location and lush, luxurious grounds and facilities kept to a very high standard. A tip about checkout: you can use the facilities all day. Ask the front desk that morning about staying longer. If your room isn't booked, they may let you keep it for $25 per extra hour. Otherwise, or if you don't want to pay, there's a hospitality room where guests can shower and get changed comfortably before leaving. I also have a strong objection to the $50-per-night resort fee. To me, it's a scam wherever it's charged. If I want to use the gym, water sports, or bikes, I should be able to pay for those or skip them. I don't see why I should pay for services I never use.
