The rooms are tiny and smell like old, wet dish towels. The bedding is basically a sheet, and the pillows are hard. They don’t provide much in the room, not even hand towels. If you’re after the bare basics, this might suit you. For the price, though, you could stay in old San Juan and get better amenities and a view.

My check-in was a really disappointing start to the stay. After a long trip, I expected a warmer welcome, but the receptionist spoke to me rudely and unprofessionally, with an unfriendly tone that made me feel unwelcome. Hospitality starts at the front desk, and that interaction left a very negative first impression. I hope management addresses it, because guest service should be a priority.

We walked to the cruise port with our luggage in less than 30 minutes, though the hotel also offers a shuttle. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Our room was clean and worked fine for two adults and two teens. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

I was surprised by how inexpensive the hotel was. I’ve stayed here three times already and plan to keep coming back when I cruise, since it’s only four minutes from the port. There’s lots to do nearby, with shopping and plenty of pretty spots for dinner. Highly recommend it.
