A key safe made the contactless check-in easy and smooth, and the room was spotless. It had the essentials I needed: AC, hairdryer, coffee machine, safe, fridge, and even beach towels. The beach and city center were both within walking distance. It’s not a luxury hotel, but the value for money is excellent. A comfortable, practical place to stay in San Juan.

Andina and Nicole really made the stay for me. They were so friendly and respectful, always stopping to say hello and chat, and their suggestions for places to go were helpful. The room was spotless whenever I got back, with everything put in place so carefully. I’ve never had better cleaning service at a hotel, and since they’re the only staff most guests see, they both deserve a huge raise. Thank you for making things so comfortable. See you next time! Red Door Inn was my favorite of the several places I stayed in Puerto Rico. The room was simple but very comfortable, and the location was good, close to Candado Beach and plenty of restaurants. Just a heads up, the first night only, it was loud outside. I had a street-facing room and could hear the street noise easily, so earplugs might help. There’s self check-in and check-out with no front desk staff, and not much room for luggage storage.

The patio areas outside were charming, and getting around was easy, both on foot to restaurants and beaches and by rideshare. We spent 3 nights over new years and had a great time. The city view room stayed clean and tidy, thanks to the cleaning service, who went above and beyond. The bed was comfortable, and the room was well kept, with good TV and WiFi. I wanted a local hotel instead of a chain and was glad I chose this place. I can’t think of anything bad to say, and we’d definitely stay again. Ignore the one star reviews from people who didn’t even stay here.

My flights home were cancelled by the storm, and the Red Door staff kindly let me add two days to my stay. They were attentive, and the daily room refresh was great. The location is GREAT, just steps from the beach and restaurants. Clean, budget-friendly, and an easy 10/10 recommendation. I’ll be back!

I’d never stayed in a hotel room that smelled this bad. I knew there was no window, but opening the door was still horrible, and the AC didn’t clear the odor. The fridge beside the bed was loud too. The room itself was clean apart from the smell, and the beach is nearby, but there’s no pool or other amenities. The entry instructions were wrong, and the key labels were also wrong, so I had to work out which key to use. They put a $250 hold on your card for one night, plus a $19.89 resort fee based on the room rate. You pay that without getting anything, a total rip off. Before arrival, they send a long list of restrictions and charges, which didn’t make me feel welcome. Check-in is 3 pm and check-out is 11 am. Losing a key costs $150, and late checkout fees apply too. I wouldn’t stay again even if it were free. The room wasn’t worth $150 plus the $20 resort fee per night.
