We planned to finish our vacation with a quiet night, dinner, a cocktail, and maybe a dip in the pool. Instead, the hotel restaurant was closed from Sunday afternoon through Monday, despite the promises of an immersive dining experience and the “best eats Puerto Rico has to offer.” The welcome drink was also forgotten at check-in. A desk clerk offered it later that evening when I went to get something from the car. It was a nice gesture, but the moment had passed. The plunge pool is beside the lobby in a busy spot where guests pass on their way to and from rooms. The white seats shown online had debris on them and didn’t look clean, so we chose not to use the pool. The rooms were small but generally neat, and the beds were reasonably comfortable. The pillows felt like foam slabs. There was a lot of street noise from loud cars and motorcycles cruising by. Parking was difficult. The few spaces out front were taken, so we stopped on the busy street and had to find the valet to help unload amid traffic. After that, the car was taken to the hotel’s lot behind an electronic gate. The hotel advertises itself as four-star, but my experience with the service, food, room comfort, and location didn’t support that.

I had to make a last-minute trip to Puerto Rico for family reasons, and the team at Tropical Beach Hotel made a stressful time much easier. Jessica, Pedro, Andrea, and Soe were all kind, attentive, and ready to help. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcome and supported. I really appreciate their warmth and professionalism.

The staff’s kindness made this a great stay, along with being just a block from the beach. Pedro, Jessica, Andrea, Zoe, Aracelis, Xiomara, thank you! The rooms were cute, though if you’re in one facing the street, watch out: the restaurant next door blasts techno at 7:30 in the morning. An inside room would’ve made the trip perfect, but the staff’s kindness helped make up for the noise.

The location is central enough that I didn’t need a car, and the service was really friendly and accommodating during my two-night stay. Getting luggage to the room was a bit of a challenge because the hallways are narrow and there’s no elevator, or maybe it was broken. The bathroom was very large, while the rest of the room felt small for two people. Usually it’s the other way around.

The staff were very nice and friendly, and we liked being able to leave our luggage after checkout, then spend time around the hotel until it was time to head to the airport. The place is close to the airport, in a lively neighborhood with lots of food and drink options within walking distance. We’d definitely stay here again.
