Trotamundos

I spent two nights here, and it’s a good base if you want to be in the middle of Old San Juan, close to lively bars and everything else. The location is fantastic for nightlife, but you’ll hear the partying. On Friday and Saturday, it started around 7 PM and went until about 2:15 or 2:30 AM, so older guests or anyone who doesn’t enjoy nightlife should keep that in mind. The rooms are outdated and a bit run-down, with no TV and no windows, though there is a balcony for people-watching. In Puerto Rico, I didn’t miss having a TV.

I paid $245 for one night before boarding a cruise on Sunday, and it felt overpriced. The hotel is outdated, so don’t expect much unless you want to be disappointed. My room faced the street, with the windows and door opening onto it, so I kept them shut and had no windows to use. There’s no elevator, and all the rooms are on the top floor, meaning you have to carry your luggage up. Across the street, the bars kept a loud party going until 3 AM. I only managed three hours of sleep. Luckily, it was just one night.

Ingrid and the team at Trotamundos were professional, responsive, and excellent. We had a clean, safe, comfortable room that met our needs for sleeping and showering. Everyone showed a lot of care throughout our stay. I highly recommend it.

Great spot for a Friday or Saturday party in old town. Several bars right next door and above the hotel go hard until 2 AM, and they provide earplugs. The staff were super friendly, and our room was very clean.
