The property is huge, over 100 acres, and feels wonderfully natural, with the Tejo river running through it and olive trees said to be 300 years old. It's a charming place, and the rooms and the kindness of everyone there really surprised me. Don't let the simple look put you off. One of the best stays I've had.

The pool is huge and the scenery around it is beautiful, and breakfast was very good, with tigeladas de Abrantes, scrambled eggs and other things. D. Sofia welcomed us warmly and was always ready to help. Sr Jacinto was very thoughtful too.

We felt right at home, and there was never a chance to get bored. The setting, welcome, cleanliness, food, vast grounds and wonderful pool were all lovely. Sr.Jacinto and Sofia were so kind and helpful. Mel says she misses everyone already, especially Bolota, the mare who was waiting for our carrot, and Alice, the completely out of it but beautiful and sweet dog. We wanted to stay forever, and we'll return as soon as we can, hopefully tomorrow! Big kisses to everyone, and all the best.

The surroundings and facilities made up for some of the less pleasant moments during the pandemic, and we'd very likely return. It's a wonderful spot for anyone wanting a rest close to nature. Unfortunately, management's Clean and Safe rules felt too strict, especially around breakfast and daily room cleaning. Dinner at the monte restaurant was pleasant, but having a fixed price without knowing the menu in advance didn't make for an enjoyable experience.
