Quinta de São Luiz - The Vine House

We arrived at this location on a GetYourGuide tour. The local tour and tasting were great, and the shop was very nice, with a good variety of Kopke Wine. I really enjoy Kopke, especially their port, which is my favorite overall. I’m not as keen on their table wine, but the fine port white is excellent. This place is just wow.

The tasting is a must-do, with stunning grounds and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The Vine House is peaceful and clean, beautifully set in the heart of wine country. I could enjoy a cigar in peace while looking over the valley, and we’ll definitely come back to take in the full balcony view on a clear day. One thing to know is that food service is run separately from the hotel and wine tasting. We had an issue with dinner, but both Marco and Ana went above and beyond to sort it out. A gem in the Douro Valley.

It’s quiet and relaxing here, with great views. The room was nice, the staff friendly, and the food and wine were great. What a great location. You can’t go wrong staying here.

The vineyard and views are beautiful. We had a tour and wine tasting, though I think the tasting restaurant could make better use of the view. During the tour, the guide seemed uninterested and only seemed keen to sell wine at the end. They didn’t provide bread or water with the tasting, unlike at other tasting experiences.
