Albufeira Lounge Guesthouse Hostel

For nearly 200€ a night, this felt far too cheap in the wrong ways. The gym isn't included, even though the hotel is in a gym complex in the middle of nowhere. The room was humid, and towels are only changed every three days, which makes little sense on a four night stay when the change would come on the last day. The complimentary water was under 33cl and wasn't replaced daily, despite my bill coming to almost 700€. There were basic problems too: the bathroom wall was cracked near the floor and by the towel rail, and the walls are thin enough to hear everything. At peak times the water wasn't warm. The lights are bright with no soft courtesy light, and the window faces the padel and gym, so there were balls and shouting throughout the day, plus loud music in the afternoon. Breakfast was fine but dull. Since there's a restaurant, they could offer some variety instead of boiled eggs every day, maybe scrambled eggs or bacon. Nothing about the place felt like a lounge. They should call it Albufeira Motel and cut the price drastically.

A really good spot for a padel camp: everything was spotless, the staff were friendly, helpful and professional, and the food was good with drinks at a great price. The pool is quite cool because it isn't heated. There also isn't anywhere on site to wash or dry clothes. There are machines at the fuel station behind the complex, but even some drying racks here would help.

We had such a good time, and the staff were lovely. Prices were great too. The pizzas are worth trying, we ate them every day.

The staff really take care of you here, and the gym was great. It's a brilliant little hotel, with a pleasant bar and a terrace to sit in the sun. Good range of beers and wines, too.
