Rosegarden Essence Sintra

We slept well and had a good breakfast downstairs to start the day. The room was cosy, with soft lighting, a strong shower, and windows that kept out the howling wind when we arrived. A chilled bottle of fizz we'd ordered ahead was waiting, along with tickets for Pena Palace. We were welcomed at the gate and felt at home right away. Rose Garden House is tucked into a quiet square, about a half-hour walk from the station. Everything was clean and tidy, the facilities were good, and they provided soaps and towels. It's a shame we didn't get to try the pool. I'd happily come back and stay longer.

I paid for breakfast and never got to eat it. The woman opening the breakfast room on Sunday told me she'd missed her bus and asked us to wait a while, even though the posted opening time was 7 a.m. We had plans and a schedule. Getting in touch with staff was also difficult, and when I asked for help they were dismissive. Terrible breakfast service and hospitality. I wouldn't recommend it, and I'm not going back.

There are several good restaurants nearby, away from the touristy spots, so they were good without being crowded or overpriced. Parking in front was plentiful and free. The location is really nice, the staff very friendly, and breakfast delicious. Our rooms were spacious and very nice, and the shower was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Our room was divine, and breakfast was a feast. The staff made us feel so welcome. This hotel is a real gem for visiting the sights around Sintra, while still being tucked into a quiet cobbled square away from the crowds. My sister and I had a wonderful stay recently. Hope we can come back one day.
