Monte da Lua

We felt well looked after by the hospitable host, and the location worked really well, tucked away from Sintra’s packed streets. The bed must have been comfortable because we meant to head to Cascais and see the sea, but instead slept away the rest of the day. I did lose the main door code, which was a bit of a problem, but luckily they answered when I called around ten after dinner down the road. We got in, and had time for a few winks, with our luggage and passports safely with us. The facilities were a little lacking. We thought the kettle needed a proper clean. There was an interesting range of teas, though, and I had to take some home. I’d love to stay longer than a day next time and would definitely consider coming back.

It’s right across from Sintra Station, which made this a perfect spot for a solo traveler like me relying on public transport. From my room I could even see the Bus 434 and 435 stops 😉 Nothing fancy, but you get what you pay for. The staff were friendly, let me check in early, and kept my luggage without charging extra. Simply amazing!

The location, right opposite the train station, is great, and once I got checked in, everything was good. The building is a little old, though they make a decent effort to keep it nice. Getting in touch with staff and sorting out check-in was the main problem.

I had no complaints. The room was bright and had an amazing view, and the weather was fine even without air-conditioning. You’re just a few steps from the historic center and the train and bus stations.
