Sintra Boutique Hotel

The rooms were exceptionally quiet even though the hotel is on a busy road. The breakfast room feels like a cafeteria, with plenty to eat: fruit, ham, cheese, pastries, and hot food. Staff were friendly, and we were welcomed with a lovely personal note. Good value for central Sintra. It’s in a really central spot, overlooking the Palacio Nacional and near Quinta da Regaleira and the bus stop. The name is misleading, though, since it isn’t boutique in style. It’s more like a UK Travel Inn: functional, clean, and comfortable, without frills or much style. The decor feels modern in a retro, 1970s sort of way.

We’d happily come back to Sintra, and Sintra Boutique Hotel would be our first choice. It was a safe, welcoming place for our family, and we’d recommend it to couples, families, solo travelers, or anyone after beauty, adventure, and romance in Portugal. Obrigada/Obrigado! The staff made our stay memorable, especially Teresa, who welcomed us warmly, checked us in kindly, and walked us to the room to explain the personalized entry code. She also kept our luggage safe after checkout so we could explore a little longer. The location is right in the historic center, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, cafés, palaces, castles, and viewpoints. Public transport, tuk-tuks, and Bolt/Uber pickups are just steps away, so getting around was simple. Sintra itself felt like a fairytale city in the mountains, among forests, misty hills, and centuries of history. Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, the ancient Moorish Castle, and the historic center were all enchanting, and it’s an easy short trip from Lisbon. Our comfortable, well-kept room looked out over the mountain. The golden fall leaves and soft mist on the hillside made it peaceful and cozy, perfectly in keeping with Sintra’s charm. Breakfast stood out too, with lots of variety and fresh, high-quality food. The room had fantastic facilities, and the service was excellent. Reception staff were very kind and helpful, and the location was great for sightseeing around Sintra.

Ella made our stay especially easy. She talked us through our itinerary, answered all our questions, and shared useful comments. She also booked a morning taxi to Pena Palace and arranged a takeaway breakfast for our early departure. Thanks, Ella! The hotel was easy to reach and had several parking choices, including a small private garage down the hill. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and clean. It’s uphill from the main area, though everything in Sintra seems to be, and getting around was easy.
