Almar Hotel Apartamento

The location is spot on, and the rooms, though dated, were very clean. The staff are really nice 👌 👍

Miriam was wonderful, friendly and considerate, and helped us move after our awful first night. We started in Suite 001, which was dark, moldy and full of insects. Don’t stay in that room, and refuse the basement suites if they offer one. The upper floors have lovely views, and the quieter setting away from the beach was nice. The pool is good, and it’s better than being in all the noise in town. The hotel itself is old, dated and crumbling. Miriam was very helpful, but the other front desk staff didn’t look up or acknowledge us when we came in. Just stay upstairs.

The one-bedroom apartment had a handy kitchenette with everything needed for a comfortable stay, and a washer room, though there wasn’t a washing machine in our apartment. Our room was clean and spacious with an ocean view. The staff were super helpful and friendly, and the rooms are a little dated.

We booked a premium suite at the almar for 10 days, and it was much bigger than the photos suggested. It had everything we needed. Since we’d mentioned our wedding anniversary in the first email, there was a bottle of champagne waiting in the room, a lovely touch. When we later said the balcony had no shade, a house maid arrived with an umbrella within half an hour. The private pool was great for cooling off in the much hotter than expected weather. Staff were very friendly, and the room was cleaned and the beds made every day. It’s self catering, but there are plenty of good places to eat nearby, and the old town with lots of restaurants and bars is a short walk away. We’d definitely recommend it.
