We left just half an hour after checking in for a three-night break. Once we saw the room, I couldn’t stay, and the earlier reviews were accurate. The location is also very far away, in an area that needs a lot of attention. The two stars are for the woman at the bar, who served us lunch and drinks by the pool while we waited for our room.

The place was so clean and beautiful, and everyone on staff was polite. The restaurant prices were good, and drinks at the bar were cheap too. Housekeeping cleaned the apartment and left fresh towels and toilet rolls. The pool area was clean, though the water felt cold at first and was fine once you got in. Nights were so quiet we didn’t hear a thing. For shopping, MAR is about 30 minutes away and has Primark and a supermarket. Aldi is around 15 minutes away, and Uber was so cheap. Don’t use their own taxi, use Uber. So please stop reading the bad reviews here, they’re not true.

Getting around was manageable: it’s an easy walk to the strip and Ubers are cheap, though there are no nearby bars or restaurants. The complex felt disjointed, with several blocks that don’t share a communal area. If your block isn’t the main one, you have to go outside to reach the bar. It also seemed to mix residents and holiday guests, so it didn’t really feel like a resort. Noisy dogs were a big problem, especially in the middle of the night. Our apartment was huge but needed updating. The kitchen was falling apart, with laminated doors held on by sello tape, and there was a DO NOT USE sign on the oven, so they obviously knew it was an issue. The shop only opens from 9am to 1pm, while you can’t get into your room until 4pm, so by then you’ve missed the chance to buy water or milk. The cleaners only changed the towels once in seven days, took the rubbish out, and left new toilet roll.

We wanted a peaceful place to explore and spend time on the beach, and that’s what we got. The apartments were quiet, with plenty of room, comfortable beds, a good bathroom, and a kitchen with everything we needed. We liked walking into town, and Ubers were cheap enough for getting around. There were lots of pools and lounge areas if that’s your thing. We also enjoyed sitting on the balcony with coffee late in the evening. Exactly what we expected, and we’d stay again.
