Herdade dos Salgados - Vila das Lagoas - Private Apartaments

I've stayed in different apartments around this complex many times because I love the area. There are lots of pools, and you don't have to rush to get a lounger. The beach and nearby golf are beautiful. Our apartment had no housekeeping, which was disappointing at the high rental price, and the little pool bar was handy for lunch and snacks but a bit pricey. The cocktail bar was a rip off. The staff were rude, and the drinks were crazy expensive, especially when what you got wasn't really a cocktail compared with drinks elsewhere.

We had a spacious room, and the cleaners did an excellent job. The hotel's several pools were good, and the beach nearby was great. I thought the supermarket was good too, despite the unfair criticism it gets. Its prices weren't too high for a small market tucked away like that. The only issue was how noisy the neighbours above us were. They woke my children several times, so maybe bring earplugs just in case.

We got a three-bedroom apartment for €60 in December, so at least in the off season this place is great value. It had a nice kitchen, three bathrooms, and a pleasant patio. There are several big pools close by, and you can use the nice spa in the main reception area for €5.

The reception staff member Hugo Martins was incredibly friendly and helpful. He gave us lots of suggestions and really went out of his way to make our visit better. We spent a few wonderful days at this apartment resort. The surroundings are beautiful, and the apartment was well kept with everything we needed. The beach is very close and lovely, and nearby Lagos dos salgados is beautiful for birdwatching. I'd definitely recommend staying here when visiting the Algarve!
