Hotel Baia Grande

The spa was lovely, and I had a candle massage that I'd recommend. I was very happy with my stay. The public areas and room were clean and well cared for, and the place felt cozy as soon as I walked in. The staff were lovely, friendly and professional. I met a few wonderful people who helped make the stay feel relaxed and pleasant. The food was fresh and tasty, with plenty to choose from. Thanks to the chef for making food I really enjoyed, and to the whole team for making the stay unforgettable. I absolutely loved it and will definitely come back 😊

We enjoyed our week here, which was for my 50th birthday. The staff made me a delicious birthday cake and included a complimentary letter, a lovely touch. Thanks to the management and staff for that. The hotel is smaller than any we've stayed in before. Staff were polite and friendly, though the rooms felt a little small. Ours had a side view where you could see the sea, but the balcony was too tiny to use. The pool was smaller than the photos suggested, though adequate, and we preferred walking down to the local beaches. The pool bar was good, but we found it overpriced. Breakfast involved a wait for a table, sometimes up to 15 minutes, and the dining room was small with limited facilities. The food options were limited too, but well cooked, and the desserts were delicious. A complimentary bottle of water would have been welcome. The real drawback was how far the hotel is from both the Oldtown and Newtown. We spent over $150 on transport in a week. The hotel offers free transport, but only at a few set times that didn't suit our plans. Hourly pickups until 9pm, as we've had at other 4* hotels, might encourage people to return.

I've been here four days now and love it. The hotel is well run and deserves its 4 stars. It's five minutes by car to the center of Albufeira, so renting a car is best. There's an agency in the hotel, but its prices aren't competitive. I rented at the airport, where seven days cost the same as one day at ARC rental. The staff are kind, and the place is really clean. I haven't had the air conditioning problem someone else mentioned. There's plenty of poolside seating, and the pool is big and refreshingly cool at the end of August. I also joined the Thursday evening BBQ, which was a great experience with a large choice of quality meat and fish. The gym hours were the one negative for me. It doesn't open before 10am or stay open after 7pm, so I couldn't use it because I was out doing activities then. Management should consider opening at 07:30am when breakfast starts, or earlier. Even so, this was a great stay, and I'd choose this hotel again for a future visit to the Algarve.

We had a lovely stay. Our room was spacious and clean, with a view of the ocean and pool, and breakfast had plenty to choose from. The pool was cold at first, but I soon got used to it. We took the hotel shuttle into old town. All the staff were pleasant, and Anna at the bar made the best cocktails. The pina colada was so nice, especially during happy hour from 4.30pm to 6.00pm. I'd like to say thank you.
