Luna Miramar Club

The location is decent, behind a great shopping centre with a fantastic modern supermarket. The pool was in pretty good shape, though the bar area isn't much and isn't easy to reach from reception. Our rooms were cleaned every day and the towels smelled really fresh. The staff were okay, but most didn't seem happy to be there, unlike the welcoming, upbeat hotel workers I've met elsewhere. The reception gives a modern, quirky impression, but the apartments feel like a trip back to the early 2000s. There were unpleasant smells, dated decor and poor lighting at night, and the kitchen wasn't inviting to cook in. The hotel needs a good refurbishment. If you just need somewhere basic to sleep, it's fine.

The pool and its lounge area were excellent, with a bar open all day. The balcony was also the best part of our room, since it offered some escape from the smell. But the apartment smelled strongly of cooked chicken for days, coming up through the building and into our room through some gap or opening. The building beyond reception was very dated, and the air conditioner looked like it was from the early 2000s. It wasn't what the photos showed, even allowing for travel photos not always matching reality. We booked through Love Holidays, and the fancy reception with red ropes gave a misleading impression of the so-called luxury rooms. There were four of us and none of us had been too concerned about the accommodation at first, but it became the main topic of the holiday. There were stains on the table, a bathroom leak left the floor soaked for days, and staff ignored our request to fix it. The AC was hanging off the wall in the main bedroom. This was easily the worst place I've stayed, and I wouldn't return. The whole place needs to close for winter and be gutted.

We were nervous after reading some worrying reviews, but the lobby was lovely and very clean when we arrived. The pool area had a good vibe, and we could always find a sunbed. It's not as bad as people make out, and deserves a chance. Our air conditioner started leaking. Reception sent someone to fix it, but it stopped working again and no one came the second time. The male receptionist didn't seem interested. There were also a few ants in the room, though the rest was very clean and they offered to clean it most days. All-inclusive was good for drinks and perhaps breakfast, but dinner was basic with poor choices, and the bar snacks weren't great either. We found it better to eat out most nights. Even so, we enjoyed our time here.

The rooms were lovely, the food and drinks were fantastic, and the location was great. Pool facilities were good, though some toilets are a little run down. The cleaners were super friendly and more welcoming than reception. A few receptionists, including Bruno, and the nighttime security workers were exceptions, but most reception staff were rude, as were the pool bar staff. At check-in, the receptionist demanded a €600 deposit, which we got reduced to €300. When we checked out, Anna said we'd thrown a chair through the balcony in one of our rooms and showed us a photo of a broken chair someone had sent her. She said it was taken “last Sunday.” We arrived Thursday, so it couldn't have been us, but she still refused to return the deposit and kept asking if we were sure about our arrival date. She could have checked the records before accusing us. She eventually gave the deposit back, but it felt like Anna was trying hard to keep our money. A good hotel spoiled by staff who seemed intent on ruining the holiday.
