Oceanic Rainbow Apartment-Albufeira

A really cozy, spacious apartment.

The walk to Albufeira's old town and beaches isn't far, though the road slopes. What made the stay difficult started with booking. BeGuest handled everything, since Booking.com didn't manage the process. They wanted a card deposit and sent a link that wouldn't accept my details. When I contacted them, they blamed my Dutch credit card, which was unfair as I'd never had trouble using it. Then another organization, Atitude Estavel, sent a bank account number that was wrong. I had to contact them again to get the correct one, after which I paid everything. I also had to chase my €150 deposit refund five times, and it took a week. They asked me to upload a passport copy to a website, but that was rejected too. The apartment is in a residential area and didn't feel like a holiday. There were lots of food smells in the building. The view was nice, though it also looked over plenty of laundry and a messy setting. A dog on the opposite terrace barked constantly. The IKEA furnishings weren't great: the bed was reasonable but could be better, the couch was very uncomfortable, and the frying pans were falling apart. The outdoor table wobbled so much it couldn't be used, so I moved the kitchen table onto the balcony. The balcony door didn't open properly. There was hardly any bathroom storage, and the shower had a sort of floating floor that felt dangerous, so I had to be careful not to fall. Clothes had to go in a kind of open closet. I stayed ten days, but cleaning and fresh towels didn't arrive until day five. At home, I change towels every two days.
