Paraiso Albufeira

The location made it easy to explore: beaches, restaurants and shops were close, many attractions were walkable, and taxis and ride-share services were easy to arrange. It’s in the centre of Albufeira, yet far enough away for quiet evenings. The atmosphere felt safe, family-friendly and welcoming for guests of all ages. It worked well as a base for the Algarve, whether travelling as a couple, with friends or as a family. Our apartment was roomy, modern and exceptionally clean, with a properly equipped kitchenette, comfortable beds and a lovely balcony. Housekeeping kept it in great condition throughout. The pool area was beautifully maintained, with plenty of sun loungers, and the spotless grounds showed how much care the team puts into the place. The staff were welcoming and professional from the moment we arrived, and always ready to help with questions or requests. Paradise Hotel exceeded our expectations. We had a fantastic stay and will happily return. Great facilities, friendly staff, comfortable accommodation and excellent value. We’d recommend it.

We had a great holiday and will definitely come back. The entertainment was funny and thoughtful, and my kids enjoyed the shows every evening. Our room was on the fifth floor and had an amazing view. There are six lifts, though with what I think is a hotel of 800 rooms, there can be a lot to serve. The room is the one thing I’d suggest improving. It’s outdated and needs new furniture. Breakfast was a bit boring, with the same typical English breakfast items each day, and it only runs until 10, so you have to get up early if you want it. We arrived Tuesday afternoon, unsure if we were at the right place because we couldn’t see the hotel name. The lady with orange hairs was very nice and polite, explained everything and made us feel welcome. The outdoor pool was amazing but cold, and there’s a heated one indoors too. Apart from the old room, the whole experience was awesome.

The room was tidy, and the cleaners were pleasant, smiling when we passed. They brought clean towels and toilet rolls when needed each morning and made the beds and sofa bed. Shops are nearby, and reception was usually quiet outside peak hours, when we weren’t around much. The food at the pool bar was pretty expensive, though decent when I tried it. The hotel was average, not horrible, but I personally wouldn’t return. The place felt unwelcoming during our three-night stay. I don’t know if that was because we weren’t all-inclusive, but staff should be reasonably polite whether or not you pay extra. The pool music was at full volume every day, making it hard to talk or play cards together. The ladders felt extremely loose, like they might come off when stepped on. There were no lifeguards, as other reviews have mentioned, and the entertainment and pool staff didn’t interact much. We expected to buy drinks at the pool bar as self-catering guests, but staff were very strict about bringing in drinks, even from the Spar upstairs. They quickly removed empty cups so you couldn’t refill them with your own drinks. A small cup of WKD at the bar costs 7€, while a case of WKD upstairs costs around the same, so I can see why people would rather buy from the Spar. The pool staff seemed to make a big fuss instead of letting you bring down the same WKD sold at the bar. There was also grounds work at the back by our balcony that woke us each morning. I’m not sure if it was part of the hotel or outside the grounds, but it wasn’t pleasant to wake up to or listen to on the balcony. It felt odd to have a shisha bar and 🍃 vending machine downstairs in a place advertised as a family hotel, though they were rarely busy. We enjoyed our trip to old town albufeira, but that had nothing to do with the hotel.

The hotel is run-down and disgusting, and the staff were extremely rude. We stayed for a week and the room was never cleaned. Pool staff searched our bag and shouted at us over food or drinks that weren’t from the pool bar. They call the police if you bring your own food or drinks from the shop. The hotel manager told us he didn’t want “clowns like us in his hotel.” He then said he was part of a gang and told us to watch what happens to us. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Twelve other families were also putting in complaints about how the staff spoke to and treated them. I highly recommend staying away.
