Four stars? No way. Three at best, and even that’s pushing it. There isn’t enough gated parking, and the bed and pillows are lousy. The rooms are a decent size, the decor is old, and breakfast is nice, but it’s at a three-star level, nowhere near four.

We were there with our two kids during school break to visit the nearby Dino Parque, and the ladies made us feel very welcome. They were accommodating, helped with anything we needed, and gave us lots of good restaurant suggestions. The boys loved the indoor pool, and we had a comfortable stay with a little kitchen and plenty of room to relax. The grounds are nice for a walk, with beautiful vistas. One of my son’s little sleep bunnies got left somewhere in the room, but the kind ladies made sure it got back to us. I’d happily stay here again, and recommend it if you’re in the north of Portugal.

The indoor pool is a nice feature for both children and adults, and the calm setting, with birdsong as the main sound, made it easy to relax. Breakfast was tasty and had a good variety, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. There are suites and apartments, and the apartments are handy for families with kids because they have kitchenettes. It’s a comfortable, family-friendly choice if you’re visiting the nearby Dino Park.

We picked this place on a friend’s recommendation, and being off the beaten path suited our situation perfectly. We arrived from the wedding at a very unusual hour, and the service was stellar. Breakfast was pleasant, and the staff were fantastic.

The receptionist and cook were both great, and the breakfast was excellent. The bedroom was excellent too. The indoor pool is especially nice on rainy days, though the internet service isn’t great.
