Villa Casa das Amendoeiras

We had a great holiday here. It’s a comfortable place, and I’d recommend the house. I’ll come back again. Thanks to the owners.

The owner was really nice, and the house is lovely with everything you need. There’s also a big pool, just right for lazy days.

We loved the outdoor space, especially the fantastic pool and the gorgeous sunsets. The inside is simpler, though you’re outside most of the time anyway. The only problem was a sewage smell in the upstairs bathroom.

We’ve rented summer villas in Spain and Portugal for ten years, and we’ve never had a welcome like this. On arrival, the villa’s pool was very dirty. We raised it with the gardener, who said it would be clean within an hour. Later, the Villa Dumas representative and owner said it was clean, but the gardener told us he hadn’t been able to clean it for 15 days because the previous tenants didn’t want it cleaned. He also said towels thrown into the pool by those guests had clogged the filter. When we asked what had happened, the owner and company representative acted in bad faith, trying to say the pool was always like that and suggesting we just wanted a discount. They gave us an ultimatum: get our deposit back and leave, or pay and stay the week with the pool in that condition. They offered no other option. We were furious, took the deposit, and ended up with nowhere to stay. With four children, we had to sleep in our car. Avoid this place completely.
