Storytellers Palace

The staff and restaurant were the real highlights of our stay. Our room was compact, but laid out so practically that my partner, our toddler, and I managed fine with a crib, two pieces of luggage, and our baby bags. The location is great too. We couldn't swim or spend time at the beach since it was outside swimming season, but the shore was just across the road for a nice stroll.

We spent two nights at Storytellers palace and felt at home in this stunning, one-of-a-kind hotel with its small number of rooms. I liked the authors' names given to the rooms. The bar and pool were pleasant, and the pool was a quiet place to cool down away from the main beach. Everyone on staff was friendly, attentive, and ready to help. We had a brilliant stay and will definitely be back soon. Thank you very much.

We weren't staying at Storytellers Palace Hotel, but its beautiful appearance caught our eye, so we stopped for a cocktail on the terrace. The drinks were lovely and delicious, and that turned into a memorable visit. The palace has a strong reputation for food, so we came back for Sunday lunch the next day. It exceeded all expectations: every dish was refined and full of flavour. The elegant but comfortable atmosphere added to the meal, and the warm, professional, attentive staff made us feel welcome throughout. A wonderful place for fine dining in a beautiful setting, even without an overnight stay. Highly recommended.

The best part of our two-night stay was dinner at the Green Room each evening. Marco's creative dishes were delicious, and we still talk about the Beef Tenderloin Entree. We also loved that Marco came out to speak with us every night. Our room was the Presidential Suite on the top floor, beautifully decorated, with a lovely, romantic view. Upstairs, the large outdoor hot tub was perfect for stargazing and looking out over the serene bay. There was also a bonus room surrounded by windows for a 360-degree view, though it did have a mildew smell. The outdoor space was worth the upgrade. The town was quaint and quiet in May, just how we liked it, and the staff were top notch, very friendly, and accommodating. Thanks for making this a Portugal vacation highlight. Highly recommend!
