I had such a good time here and enjoyed it right up to the last second. There are good surf schools around, and in the evenings you can stay and hang out at the hostel or head out for dinner. Breakfast was really good, and a pastry van came by nearly every morning with lots of sweet treats. The hostel itself is amazing and cozy, and Janine and the rest of the staff are kind and helpful. I also made friends with other people staying there. The bathroom setup was the downside for me. The toilet and shower are outside by the shared hangout areas, so you don't get much separation when using them, and I don't think there are enough for the number of guests.

The site didn't seem well maintained, and the pool was dirty. Our six-bed dorm shed was cramped, with thin, uncomfortable mattresses. It was quite empty most of the time, and we wouldn't return. There was a lot of noise from neighborhood dogs and from planes landing directly overhead every five minutes. The one upside was being only a five-minute walk from the beach and a great bar.

The garden is lovely, with beautiful flowers, and there's a great swimming pool that's clean and perfect for cooling off in the hot summer. Casa da Mata is in a quiet area very close to the beach. The staff welcomed us warmly and were always glad to help with anything. The vibe is really good. I loved staying here and would definitely come back. Thanks, everyone, and especially Martim the manager.

The guys running this nice little hostel/hotel are pretty sound, and we had a nice stay. It's a bit remote, but a five-minute walk gets you to the beach, and the 20-minute walk into town is manageable for food and supplies. The place could use a bit more cleaning, and we had some trouble with the water supply.

Just a three-minute walk to the beach, and the location is perfect. The host is really nice and flexible, and everyone is extremely friendly. My favorite hostel in Costa. Such a lovely place, strongly recommend it!
