Lost Caparica Surf House

The staff at the surf school they partner with really know their stuff and helped me learn a lot more about surfing. The team here was great too, especially Patrik. It’s very close to the beach and boardwalk. I got the surf camp package, rented a surf skate, and met lots of cool people. I stayed in a six-bed dorm. The beds weren’t the most comfortable, but they were good enough, and people were respectful.

We stayed for 18 days over Christmas and New Year, and came away feeling completely at peace. The workshops and activities were relaxed and well organized, especially the watercolour and ceramics sessions, which were led by people who really knew their stuff. Breakfasts and Christmas dinner were delicious too. The team made us feel at home from the beginning and were always kind and helpful. When surfing wasn’t possible, they suggested places to see around Caparica, or we could just slow down and relax at the house or beach. There are plenty of beaches and good surf nearby, the town has a calm seaside feel, and Lisbon is about 30 minutes away. The board rental was excellent, with lots of boards to choose from. We came to Lost Caparica Surf House hoping for a relaxed break with some surfing, and it exceeded what we expected. We were very happy with our stay and are already looking forward to coming back. I’ve stayed here twice and loved the atmosphere and surf lessons both times. It’s one of the best surf houses I’ve experienced. Thanks to Lily, Maria, and the whole team for making me feel so welcome :)

I had a fantastic week at Lost surf House near Lisbon, with two surf classes booked each day for all seven days. The coaches were great and gave detailed, useful feedback that really helped my technique. Costa de Caparica is well placed for getting to the waves. Getting into Lisbon takes about an hour and a half by public transport, or 30 minutes by taxi. I really enjoyed the week and would recommend coming here to surf. A few things were limited during my November visit. The weekly barbecue and pizza nights weren’t running in the off-season. Yoga is only held on the rooftop, so wind and rain meant I could join just two classes that week. Winter visitors should be ready for that. The shared areas in the house also feel small and closed in, so I’d suggest making the place smoke-free for everyone’s comfort.
