Residencial Lareira do Pinheirinho

The location is the one good point. We booked for two adults and one child, then arrived with another child, 4 months old, who slept with us in the bed. We spent little time there because we'd mainly booked to enjoy the nearby beaches. The change in management, arrogance, and lack of hygiene mean we won't return. The replies to comments here say plenty, too. I wouldn't recommend staying here, especially with a Japanese restaurant downstairs where you can see several rats outside. The rooms need proper cleaning, repairs, and renovation. Some door frames and shower doors were broken, and the towel rail was so rusty it stained the towels. The older Brazilian man at reception was extremely unfriendly. The air conditioning worked sometimes and not others, and although the TV was said to have 30 channels, ours only got six. There were lots of construction workers sleeping there, and the rooms smelled so strongly of tobacco that we had to buy an air freshener and put it on top of the wardrobe.

A Lareira Do Pinheirinho doesn't serve breakfast or meals, but there are plenty of places to eat right outside, including a sushi restaurant next door and A Brasinha, a barbecue restaurant. It's an old building, and the rooms aren't five-star hotel rooms, but they're clean and perfectly fine for a night's sleep. Since it's right by the road, some traffic noise is to be expected, though nothing as terrible as I'd read in some comments. The staff are friendly and helpful. This will definitely be one of our preferred places to stay in future.
